During Itawamba County Circuit Court’s October session, the following people received convictions.
- Karen A. Barker, 9015 State Kube Road, Tremont, entered a plea of guilty to controlled substance charges. She was sentenced to serve eight years with five years suspended, three years to be served and five years on probation. She was fined $1,000 plus restitution fees and court costs. She is currently being held in the Itawamba County Jail.
- Matthew Scott Melear, 6055 Van Buren Road, Fulton, entered a plea of guilty to sale of a controlled substance within proximity of a school, church or park. He was sentenced by Judge Jim Pounds to 20 years, with all 20 years suspended.
On a second set of charges, Melear was charged with sale of a controlled substance within proximity of a church, school or park. He was sentenced to 20 years, with five years on probation, to run concurrently with his other charges.
Melear was also sentenced to ISP/house arrest and ordered to pay $2,000 in court fees, plus restitution fees and court costs.
- Jeremy Perkins, 44 Rock City Road, Fulton, entered a plea of guilty to one count of burglary of a vehicle, train, boat or building other than a dwelling. He was sentenced by Judge Thomas J. Gardner, III to seven years, with two years suspended and five years to be served.
On a second charge, Perkins pleaded guilty to one count malicious mischief. He was sentence by Judge Gardner to five years, with all time suspended.
Perkins was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine in addition to court costs and restitution fees. He is currently being held in the Lee County Jail.
- Bobby R. Graham, 110 Wyman Road, Mantachie, entered a plea of guilty to two counts possession of a controlled substance, enhanced because he was also in possession of a firearm. On the first count, he was sentenced by Judge Gardner to serve 20 years, with 12 years suspended, eight to be served and five on probation. On the second charge, he was sentenced to eight years, with all time suspended.
Graham was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus court costs and restitution fees. He is currently being held in the Itawamba County Jail.
- Joann Westmoreland, 1285 Cardsville Church Road, Nettleton, entered a plea of guilty to DUI violations. She was sentenced by Judge James L. Roberts to 20 years, with 10 years suspended, 10 to be served and five years on probation.
On a second charge, Westmoreland pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident with injuries. She was sentenced to five years, with all five to be served.
Additionally, Westmoreland was fined $1,000, plus $62,600 in restitution fees. She is currently being held in the Itawamba County Jail.
- Angela Hood, 501 Chilcoat Street, Fulton, entered a plea of guilty to possession of precursor chemicals. She was sentenced by Judge Pounds to 10 years, with all time suspended.
Additionally, Hood was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus restitution fees and court costs.
- James E. Crunk, 987 CR 1349, entered a plea of guilty to driving under the influence, his third subsequent offense. He was sentenced by Judge Gardner to five years, with four years suspended, one year to be served and four years on probation.
Additionally, Crunk was ordered to pay $2,000 in fines, plus restitution and court costs. He is currently being held in the Itawamba County Jail.
- Robert Whaley, 156 CR 861, Tupelo, entered a plea of guilty to two counts of grand larceny of an individual, property valued at more than $250. On the first count, he was sentenced by Judge Roberts to 10 years, with the balance suspended and credit for time served. On the second count, he was sentenced to 10 years, with all time suspended.
Additionally, Whaley was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus restitution fees and court costs.
- William Robison, 305 County Highway 131, Detroit, Ala., entered a plea of guilty to conspiracy. He was sentenced by Judge Gardner to 20 years, with 20 years suspended. He was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus restitution fees and court costs.
- Glenn D. Hopson, P.O. Box 501, Golden, entered a plea of guilty to possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He was sentenced by Judge Gardner to 10 years, with eight years suspended and two years to be served and five years on probation.
Additionally, Hopson was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus court costs and a restitution fee. He is currently being held in the Itawamba County Jail.
- James R. Wilson, 671 Doc Stanphill Drive, Tremont, entered a plea of guilty to possession of precursor chemicals. He was sentenced by Judge Gardner to 20 years, with all time suspended. He was also ordered to pay restitution and court costs.
- Patricia Loague, 560 Edge Road, Fulton, entered a plea of guilty to the sale, distribution, manufacturing or possession with intent of a controlled substance. She was sentenced by Judge Roberts to 20 years of ISP/house arrest with five years on probation. She was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus restitution fees and court costs.
- Jason E. Kennedy, 385 Gholston Road, Fulton, entered a plea of guilty to possession of precursor chemicals. He was sentenced by Judge Roberts to 20 years of ISP/house arrest, with five years probation. He was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus court costs and restitution fees.
- Kristina A. Baughn, 87 Idell Circle, Petal, was sentenced by Judge Gardner for one count of possession of precursor chemicals and a second count of conspiracy to manufacture. Gardner retired Baughn’s first charge and sentenced her to 20 years for her second, with the balance suspended due to credit for time served. She will serve five years on probation and pay a $1,000 fine, plus court costs and restitution fees.
- Christy A. Payne, 5 County Road 3274, Marietta, entered a plea of guilty to controlled substance violations. She was sentenced by Judge Pounds to 20 years of ISP/house arrest, with five years on probation. She was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus court costs and restitution fees.
- Billy W. McCarty, 75 Hubbard Road, Mantachie, entered a plea of guilty to two counts sale of marijuana. He was sentenced by Judge Gardner to six years. He was given credit for time served with the balance suspended. He will spend three years on probation.
Additionally, McCarty was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus court costs and a restitution fee.
- Darrell R. Robbins, entered a plea of guilty to one count of conspiracy. He was sentenced by Judge Pounds to 20 years, given credit for time served with the balance suspended. He will serve five years on probation, plus pay a $1,000 fine, court costs and a restitution fee.
- Orking A. Gilbert, entered a plea of guilty to sale of a controlled substance within proximity of a church, school or park. He was sentenced by Judge Pounds to 20 years, with 15 years suspended, five years to be served and five years on probation.
On a second charge, Gilbert again pleaded guilty to sale of a controlled substance within proximity of a church, school or park. He was sentenced to 20 years, with 15 years suspended and five years to be served. All time to is to be served consecutively.
Additionally, Gilbert was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, plus court costs and restitution fees. He is currently being held in the Itawamba County Jail.
- Terry W. Collins, 188 New Temple Road, Fulton, entered a plea of guilty to one count sale of cocaine. He was sentenced by Judge Pounds to 20 years, with 15 years suspended, five years to be served and five years on probation.
Collins was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus restitution fees and court costs. He is currently being held in the Itawamba County Jail.
- Janice M. Kincade, 1242 Spencer Road, Fulton, entered a plea of guilty to possession of precursor chemicals. She was sentenced by Judge Gardner to 10 years, with all time suspended. She was also ordered to attend drug court and pay court costs, a restitution fee and a $1,000 fine.
